Ariadne, a leader in bioinformatics, designs and develops software and knowledge integration solutions for pharmaceutical and life science researchers. Pathway Studio, Ariadne's premier software product is an integrated database, supporting multiple omics profiling technologies (gene expression, proteomics, metabolomics, microRNA assays and others), text mining, and experimental data analysis tools that provide an interactive scaffold for defining and testing in silico-based hypotheses across a wide range of disciplines.
Pathway Studio includes a family of ResNet databases of biological relationships and curated pathways, both canonical and expert driven. The databases are powered by MedScan™ technology, which researchers can use to edit and enhance database content from current literature and by adding proprietary data, experimental data from multiple omics profiling technologies and biological relationships, creating a unique and focused knowledgebase. A wide range of applications are supported including mechanistic modeling of disease, drug action and toxicity, as well as biomarker discovery, cellular and network pathway building, protein-protein interactions and much more. Pathway Studio is available in desktop and enterprise versions.

Ariadne and BIO-NMD
Ariadne's role within BIO-NMD is to develop a literature-derived biological knowledge base focusing on Neuromuscular Diseases (NMD) and containing an NMD ontology; to build mechanistic models and pathways for NMD and to interpret ‘omics’ data generated by the consortium in the context of NMD knowledgebase and networks.
Ariadne's main involvement is with WP6 - Bioinformatic tools for identifying functional pathways, potential targets and data outflow integration.
Olivier Brun, Ph.D. is European sales manager for Ariadne. He is in charge of the academic and institutional market in terms of follow-ups and business developments and in charge of Biotechs/pharmaceutical business developments.
Prior, Olivier worked in several business and team management/executive positions for bioinformatics and consulting companies: Innovabio as creator, Integromics as chief executive manager and Altran Group as business development manager and project manager.
Olivier received in 1997 his PhD in Cellular biology & Immunology and in 1996 DUs in Immunology and Immunotechnologies from the University of Montpellier 1, France.
Olivier’s function will be to coordinate the project, manage deadlines and relationships with the WP leaders.
Nikolai Daraselia, Ph.D. is Chief Scientific Officer of Ariadne. Daraselia has extensive expertise in molecular biology, bioinformatics and computational linguistics. His responsibilities include developing the company's long-term technology and scientific strategies, while ensuring the alignment of Ariadne’s business objectives with R&D activities. Daraselia came from InforMax, where he served as Director of Research. He joined Ariadne in 2002 and pioneered the development of a completely automated system that uses Natural Language Processing techniques to extract biomedical information from literature.
Nikolai Daraselia received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997 and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the Moscow State University in 1992.
Ilya Mazo, Ph.D. is President and chief executive officer (CEO) of Ariadne. Since his appointment, Mazo has grown Ariadne’s business by establishing leadership in key technology sectors of the bioinformatics industry and aggressively pursuing new market opportunities. Ariadne was founded in 2002 with a unique combined experience in software development for genomics and proteomics with talents and expertise in algorithm design, commercial bioinformatics system construction and bench-level biological expertise. Ariadne has strengthened its business and product offerings through partnership with best-of-breed technology vendors including Affymetrix, Illumina, BioBase, Algynomics, Accelerys, Prolexys and Microsoft.
Prior to his appointment, Mazo was Scientific Project Manager at InforMax where he launched several gene expression and PPI products and Research Scientist at CLONTECH where he developed the first commercial retroviral system.
Mazo received his Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1996 and a Master’s degree in biophysics from the Moscow Institute for Physics and Technology in 1989.
Yannick le Priol
Yannick Le Priol, Ph.D. is European application specialist for Ariadne.
